Writing the impeccable CV - general tips on resume writing

Here are some general tips on how to write a flawless resume and catch the attention of your potential employees immediately:

Be aware that your CV will be checked both by HR personnel or other hiring managers for resume help, and it is possible it will  be reviewed by specialized software too, so don’t be tempted to merely copy and paste one, and take the time to be creative and write your own best personalized one instead.

1.    Pick the proper format
It is perfectly OK to look for appropriate ready templates for your curriculum vitae, but make sure that you pick one which best suits your skills, experience and your educational history. This means choosing one which is either chronological or functional, or even better - a customized combination of both to be able to show off all your assets and skills.
2.    The font is important
Yes, you want your CV to look beautiful and you want to stand out as different, but don’t overdo it with the fonts you use. Choose one which is easy to read and easy on the eyes.
3.    Contact information
Include your full name, phone number, e-mail, and home address. Don’t forget to add a link to your LinkedIn profile as well!
4.    The resume profile
Personalize your bio, so that the objective is targeted towards the specific organization or position you are aiming at. The more specific it is - the more likely it will catch the attention of your potential employers.
5.    The skills
Look at the job position you are applying for, and add as many of the words and skills from it to your resume. The closer the fit is - the better your chances are of landing an interview.
6.    Keywords and priorities
It is essential to list all the most relevant and important skills and experience you have first. Then add the major accomplishments you have for each position held.
7.    Check the spelling and grammar
Always perform a spell and grammar check. You can have someone read it for you or use one of the many programs available to ensure you don’t have embarrassing mistakes and typos in your resume.
